Heather of Randomosity and the Girl chose the first recipe for September for the Barefoot Bloggers – a blog event aimed at making recipes from Ina Garten. The next recipe is Cream of Wild Mushroom soup – which I think I”m going to have to sit out of just because of lack of funds. I’m trying to keep our food budget in line this month – especially after a few days in Chicago (blogs about that coming shortly.)
Back to the Mac & Cheese …
Ina's grown-up mac & cheese
I had high hopes for this recipe from Ina …. but I was a bit disappointed. In fact, despite being huge mac & cheese fans, Scott and I took one bite and said “uh, no thanks.” Now, I’ll admit I may have done something wrong – we picked up a blue cheese that was probably WAY too strong for this dish – and I didn’t have the bread crumbs for the top. Perhaps I’ll try it again someday, but probably not for quite a while.
